Girardi to stay on as Skipper with Bronx Bombers till 2013

Well, they may have given it up to the Rangers this year in the ALCS, but the New York Yankees (and the Stella Karmine Originals crew) breathed a sigh of relief with news that manager, Joe Girardi is staying in his pinstripes. The Skipper's contract, signed earlier today, secures Girardi as manager of the Yanks for the next three years.

Here's hoping for some clarity in one department for Mr. Girardi: Between now and the '11 season take time to reflect on those moments in the clinch when you should play your ace-in-the-hole pitchers, rather than saving them for the proverbial "rainy day". After all, an ace-in-the-hole with no World Series is just another playing card washed away with last season's storm drains.
